“Probably the most satisfying part about building with Vance has been the end result – our home. When building a new home, there’s an element of uneasiness about what the home is actually going to turn out to be like. The biggest compliment we could have ever gotten on the house was when someone said, “This house is so you!” The house really feels like “us”. Vance was able to capture the personalities and lifestyle of our family and the house truly reflects that.

I have heard a number of people remark that building a house puts a lot of stress on a marriage. We are always happy to remark that the process of building our house with Vance was not stressful at all. When certain things, like the weather, did not cooperate Vance was always calm and reassuring that things would be ok – and they were. Vance is one of the most patient and even-tempered individuals we have ever met. And we were so thankful that he was our builder.

The people that Vance contracts with are some of the nicest people we have ever met. When we were out at the house, these people were always friendly and very hard-working. Their work is reflected in the quality of our home. In addition to being great contractors, quality materials were always used and the end product does reflect the quality of the materials.

One of the reasons we decided to build when we did was because of the low interest rates. So when we signed on for a lower interest rate, the house had to be done by a certain date. Even though the date put extra stress on Vance, he handled it with poise and professionalism. And our house was done by the date we needed it.

Now that our home is done, as with any new home, small issues do come up.

Again, Vance has been the consummate professional about it. We had heard nightmare stories about builders who ignore phone calls from their customers who have issues, or they procrastinate for months on problems. Not Vance! For example, Paul called Vance on Christmas Eve and left him a message about an issue that didn’t have to be resolved right away, but we felt Vance should know about it given the weather conditions that may have been causing it. On CHRISTMAS EVE, Vance and his lead carpenter came out here (and we live 20 miles out of Bismarck) and worked on resolving the issue. Not just anyone would do that.

We are so happy that we made the decision to go with Vance Vetter Construction. We love our new home, we can look back on the building experience with a smile, and we recommend Vance to anyone who is looking to build or remodel their home.”
